November Teen Events @ Coyle

This Thursday, November 8, from 4:30-7:00 is TAB meeting night.  We'll watch the movie Big Fish and plan upcoming events.

GAME ON! is Friday, November 30 from 4:30-6:00.  Play wii, Xbox, card and board games, and trivia with your friends.  All teens ages 12-19 are welcome!

Save the Date!  Thursday, December 13 from 4:30-7:00 is the TAB Christmas Party!  Details to follow.

This Week @ Coyle Free Library

Teens, did you know this is the last week of the Summer Reading Program?

  • Our last Night Movie during the Daylight is tomorrow afternoon.  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 2 will begin at 2:00.
  • Your help is needed for the End of Summer Carnival.  Please stop by to volunteer on this Friday night between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 pm. 
  • We are starting to think about fall and with fall comes the return of TAB (Teen Advisory Board).  Join us on Tuesday, August 7 @ 2:00 pm to talk about new ideas for our teen group.  Starting in September we will get together twice a month for activities, movies, volunteer opportunities and much more.

Hey, teens!  There's a lot happening at the library.

Tomorrow at 2:00 pm is Night Movies during the Daylight featuring Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Thursday we'll gather at 2:00 pm in the Youth Room to help Jessica make games for the End of Summer Carnival for the Children's Summer Reading Program. 

Ninja Night is this Friday night.  Meet in the Community Room at 7:45-10:30 pm.  Test your skills in challenges including Endurance, Tower Building, Bravery and Mind Strength to name a few.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.  Come hang out with friends and see what it takes to be Library Ninja Warriors.

In other news:
Save the date to volunteer on Friday, August 3 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  The Youth Department needs some teens to help out with the End of Summer Carnival.  Sign up for a two hour shift by leaving a comment or just show up that night.  Bring a friend and join the fun!

Calling All Teens for Star Trek Tuesday and a Dream-filled Thursday

Tuesday, July 10 is Star Trek Tuesday at the Coyle Free Library!  Join us as we watch the 2009 version of Star Trek during our Night Movies during the Daylight at 2:00 pm.

Come back at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 12 to "Share Your Dreams."  Learn how to record and interpret your dreams.  Join a discussion of what dreams mean, how to capture them and add to a display for the teen area.

Teen Summer Reading Program Reading Log

Starting today you can sign up to log your reading for this summer.

Step 1:  Sign-up online
Go to www.coylefreelibrary.org and click on the Summer Reading Program link.  Once you click on this link, click on the "Teens-Own the Night" tab. Fill out all the necessary information and click save.  You are now registered for the program.

Step 2:  Read Books

Step 3:  Log Books Online
Go to the same place where you signed up and log in with your username and password.  Click Add/View log and fill out the log. 

With each log entry you will be entered into a prize drawing.

RULES & REGULATIONS
  • The person submitting the photos and drawings must be ages 12-19
  • Each submission must be inspired by the night
  • All entries must be original to the person entering the contest
  • Each person is allowed one entry in each category
  • No touch-ups, editing, altering or digital enhancements to the photos
  • All entries should be 8 x 10, and either framed or with a paper mat. Photos should be on photo paper.
  • Submissions due @ Coyle Free Library by May 29 and no late entries will be accepted
  • All entries need to be picked up by June 11 as they will not be retained by the library
